Did they turn into grey dye if you had them in your inventory after the update? I didn't have any at the time, but I presume they did. I liked the dye mixes you could create (and the awesome sound when you mixed them ), even if the preview screen is far more convenient.
I loved how my ritualist's pink armour was an ugly orange the day I logged on after the update.
I've only played for two years, but I do remember how horribly frustrating it was telling people what skills you had on you. Especially when you ran out of space in the chat box, and had to continue on another line.

I've got no idea, I was away from the game at the time of update. Still, if they hadn't changed, I'm sure there'd be some kind of lucrative collectors market out there for them. Like the people who used to pay 50g for Iris Flowers in Post.

Correct me if I'm wrong but imo there has never been good HA players. Power of My Rangers etc. just ran gimmicks to hold halls for long times. They were just better than average people smashing buttons after each other.
What I'm missing is the prophecies only GvG. GWWC times when koreans dominated everything. When GW actually was Skill Wars > Build Wars.

Man, I thought they changed the refund points way before SF. Well, I probably just played the same build for a long time then xD
Yes, I remember most of what's been said in this thread. Some good, some bad.
When I first started, I was just blown away by the amazing graphics. I made screens till I dropped, and still have some old ones on my guild's site (http://sjeng.onedot.nl/jagers/screens.htm)
I remeber my first Droknar run with my Wammo. Sweaty palms... I got pretty nervous, so I never did many of those lol.
The best thing has always been just doing stuff for the first time, exploring new areas, seeing new enemies. The factions preview weekend.
Oh, and I remember very fondly the very first festival event ever: Halloween 2005! Man, the tension as L.A. was suddenly spooky, and every day something else changed... Droknar's, ToPK, the King's Guard, Bruce the Herald saying "the Mad King cometh!". And then finally the arrival of Thorn himself. Man, I had a blast then. Pumpkin Crown 1 FTW! Good times... good times... :')
...Dye remover (which could result in some really nice dye combo's, and wyvern armor was GOLD underneath the red!), combining dye in your inventory without seeing the result first, unlocked Chests, Tattered Girl's Cape :P, no flags *groan*...

I remember when people actually did the missions, The Wilds, Bloodstone Fen and Aurora Glade for something other than a title...
I remember when [hundred blades] was cappable from Charr bosses....
Most fondly I can recall the very first time I went from Pre-Searing to Post-searing and didn't understand that my new teammates were AI...I kept talking to them and waiting for somekind of an answer...after a while, and a few quests, I finnaly got a clue......

I remember when the Fellblade was the most leet sword of the game, and when people were powerleveling for 2K(?) per level outside Droks
good times
I started playing in december 2005. By the time I left pre for the first time, it was allready wintersday, I never saw Ascalon City in its normal form before, I had no idea that there was some special event going on. And then suddenly one day I was really surprised to find Ascalon City sandy and boring, where did all the snow go? :P

I remember sorrow's furnace and prophecies only. Ah the good old days.
I wish there was a prophecies only server,i think that'd make things fun for a lot of players

Nope, I don't remember. I was not playing GW at that time.
I started playing a month before they introduced the white dye and removed dye remover.

Remember when You were a monk - I was - and there was a mm and got killed and the minions - unlimited killed you. LOL
Oh even better remember when 7 people were in your group. Or even better, remember when the other 7 all died and like the monk - that would be me - would res everyone and hand out candy canes and no one would just leave the group when they died?
remember when it took all afternoon to complete and area cause I like really sucked and had to cap some skills and then we regrouped and cleared the area?
Oh remember playing WITHOUT HERO'S?
Weird.

Can you not say a build involve skill? Today build wars is out of hand, but before skill did involve creating builds...

I remember when i used to farm tengu and i made 230k selling 4 runes.
I remember messing up my build and spending a few hours getting enough refund points to fix it.
I remember when you had to wait for your server to have favour to go into the UW or FOW and word would go around when someone good was going into that place (forgot name now) to do the PvP... erm. Tomb of the primeval kings.
And you'd have like 9 active districts in the ToA waiting. and then such and such has won a battle in the blah blah. Europe has Favor.
I remember when they stopped selling black dye and it went fo 35k
I remember when there were only rumours of another town in the southern shiverpeaks and me and some other players spent ages trying to get to marhans grotto.
I remember when people used to help each other and not pay stupid pricrs for stuff
I remember getting my first firey dragon sword and being the bee's knees.
good times
